About Reform UK

We can make Britain

great again

To do this, reform is essential in the way our country is run and managed,
so it works properly for the people.

Our Story

The Reform Party UK, originally known as the Brexit Party, was founded in November 2018 by Nigel Farage and Catherine Blaiklock. Its formation was primarily a response to the perceived inadequacies of the UK government’s handling of Brexit negotiations. The party aimed to ensure that the UK would leave the European Union with a favorable deal or even without one if necessary, advocating for a hard Brexit to restore what they considered full sovereignty to the UK.

In January 2021, the party was rebranded as the Reform Party UK with an expanded focus beyond Brexit. The rebranding reflected a broader agenda aimed at reforming various aspects of UK governance and policy. The party’s platform includes significant changes to the political system, such as reforming the House of Lords, implementing proportional representation, and introducing direct democracy measures to increase accountability and public participation in decision-making.

Economically, the Reform Party UK promotes free market principles, lower taxes, and reduced regulation to stimulate business growth and innovation. They also emphasize the need for stringent immigration controls, advocating for a points-based system to manage immigration more effectively.

The party believes it offers a distinct alternative to the established national parties by focusing on radical political reform and transparency, which they argue are neglected by traditional parties. They criticize the Conservative and Labour parties for what they see as their failure to represent the will of the people, particularly highlighted by the Brexit process. The Reform Party UK positions itself as the champion of the common voter, seeking to break what it perceives as a complacent and unresponsive political elite, thereby restoring trust in British democracy and ensuring government accountability.
